Tips

Every score here is a plain sum of tile values, so DOWSERS leads at 11 points because it uses expensive letters. The board changes the arithmetic. A modest word on a double-word square often beats the top scorer on plain squares, and a high-value letter on a triple-letter square can be worth more than an entire extra word. Use the badges to shortlist plays, then look at what the board offers before you commit to a placement, and count the total both ways.
