Words I Can Make is a static website. It has no user accounts, no sign-in and no database of visitors. The letters you type into the tools are processed in your own browser and are never sent to us. This policy describes the small amount of data that is collected by the site and by the third-party services it uses.

Data processed on your device

The tools store two settings in your browser's local storage: your preferred tile-value set and whether you chose "common words only". Your current search is reflected in the page address so you can bookmark or share it. None of this leaves your device unless you share the address yourself.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and without tracking individuals across sites. When enabled, we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools and pages are used. Google Analytics is loaded with Consent Mode, which means that in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it stores no analytics cookies until you give consent through the banner described below. IP anonymisation is enabled. Analytics data is retained for the shortest period the service allows, currently 2 months for Google Analytics event data.

Advertising

The site is funded by display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its certified partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's ad settings and, for other vendors, through aboutads.info. Ads are placed below the tools and never inside the results.

Consent

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent banner provided by Google's certified consent management platform before any personalised advertising or analytics cookie is set. You can change your choices at any time through the privacy options link at the bottom of the page. Visitors in US states with privacy laws that grant an opt-out from the sale or sharing of personal information are shown an opt-out message for the same purpose. Visitors in Canada are covered by this notice; the same banner satisfies Quebec's Law 25 where it applies.

Cookies used

• Google AdSense and its partners: advertising cookies, as described above, only after consent where consent is required.
• Google Analytics: analytics cookies (_ga and related), only after consent where consent is required.
• Cloudflare: no analytics cookies; a security cookie may be set by Cloudflare's network to protect the site from abuse.
• This site itself sets no cookies.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store server logs.

Children

The site does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it collects no personal information directly from anyone.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, requests about advertising or analytics data should go to Google using the links above. For anything else, email hello@wordsicanmake.com.

Changes

This policy will be updated when the services the site uses change. The date at the top reflects the most recent update.
