By using Words I Can Make you agree to these terms. They are short because the site is simple: it is a free tool and a set of reference pages, provided in the hope that they are useful.

The service

The site provides word-finding tools and word lists computed from public data. It is free to use for personal, educational and recreational purposes. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the word lists are complete or correct, that a word shown here will be accepted by any particular game, that definitions are accurate, or that the site will be available or error-free. Use it at your own risk and check important results against the rules of the game or the reference you are relying on.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, including lost games, disputes with opponents, or reliance on any content. If a court finds this limitation unenforceable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is nothing.

Acceptable use

• Do not use automated tools to scrape the site at a rate that affects other visitors. The data files are public; if you need the word list, download ENABLE directly from its source.
• Do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation, its advertising, or its analytics.
• Do not use the site to cheat in a way that violates the rules of a game you have agreed to play. That is between you and your opponents.

Content and licences

The word list is the public-domain ENABLE list. Commonness data comes from SCOWL under its MIT-like licence and definitions from Open English WordNet under CC BY 4.0; both are attributed on the how it works page. The site's own text, design and code are copyright of the site owner. You may quote short excerpts with attribution.

Trademarks

Scrabble, Words With Friends and Wordle are trademarks of their respective owners. They are mentioned only to describe compatibility, and this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

Advertising and third parties

Advertisements are served by third parties, and links may lead to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Our privacy policy describes the data those services collect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
